On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Young Professionals Waterloo Region (YPWR), part of Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), hosted Noor Nights, bringing youth and young professionals together to explore the theme “Preserving Our Identity in the 21st Century.”

The evening focused on a question many young people face: How do we stay connected to our values and traditions while building our futures in a changing world?

Participants shared thoughts and experiences about navigating education, careers, relationships, and everyday responsibilities without losing sight of what matters to them. The conversations offered different perspectives on identity and how personal values can guide the choices we make.

The gathering also included a candle-painting activity, giving participants a chance to express their creativity while reflecting on the people, experiences, and values that bring light into their lives.

Noor Nights encouraged participants to consider how they can embrace new opportunities while staying connected to their roots. It was also a chance to meet others, exchange ideas, and spend an evening together.

Thank you to everyone who joined Noor Nights and contributed to the conversations and activities!
