On October 18, the first anniversary of his passing, our community gathered to honor Fethullah Gülen Hocaefendi—remembering a life dedicated to knowledge, education, and serving humanity. His example reminds us that learning and kindness are powerful ways to build a better world.
The evening opened with a Qur’an recitation that invited calm and reflection. A moving blend of short documentary, poems, speeches, and songs carried Hocaefendi’s message of compassion. Dr. Albert Frolov shared thoughtful insights into a life devoted to knowledge, education, and service. Guided by our mentors and youth, nearly 200 community members filled the Great Hall at Conrad Grebel University College—grateful, connected, and hopeful.
To truly honor Hocaefendi, we turn gratitude into service: study, mentor, volunteer, and help where there is need. When love moves our hands and feet, remembrance becomes responsibility. Love is a Verb.
