Grand River Friendship Society was delighted to visit the African Canadian Association of Waterloo Region and Area during their vibrant summer school program. Together with our 55+ seniors, we introduced hand-knitting to the children — a joyful and creative experience that sparked curiosity and excitement!
From handmade bracelets to colorful necklaces, the kids embraced the art of finger knitting with energy and pride. It was heartwarming to watch generations come together — learning, sharing, and laughing side by side. Our seniors played a key role, guiding the little hands with patience and care.
When we teach with kindness, create with purpose, and connect across generations, love becomes something you can feel — in every thread, smile, and shared moment. That’s why at GRFS, we say: Love is a Verb.
