CARES stands for Community Activities for Resilient, Engaged Seniors.
It is a special program by Grand River Friendship Society that helps seniors feel happy, active, and included.
Many seniors feel lonely, especially if they live far from others or don’t have much support. CARES gives them a chance to connect with people, learn new things, and enjoy life more.
We offer:
Fun cultural events and community dinners
Storytelling and art workshops with youth
Seminars on safety, mental health, and money tips
Rides for seniors who need help getting to events
We care about seniors from all walks of life—especially those with low income, disabilities, or who live in faraway places.
Through CARES, we help seniors feel loved, respected, and part of our big community.
