Spreading Warmth and Joy: Saturday Meals and Holiday Giving
In a heartwarming partnership, the Grand River Friendship Society, Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, and the Food Bank of Waterloo Region are hosting Saturday Meals every 3rd Saturday, creating a space of fellowship, care, and nourishment for the community.
Each event begins with volunteers coming together to prepare hot, wholesome meals, setting up the space with care, and welcoming every guest with kindness and compassion. These evenings are more than just about food—they’re about fostering connection and ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.
This holiday season, the collaboration went a step further by delivering Christmas gifts to spread joy and cheer to those in need. These acts of kindness highlight the true meaning of community, generosity, and unity.
Through this ongoing initiative, GRFS, the Mennonite Church, and the Food Bank of Waterloo Region are making a tangible difference, one meal and one smile at a time. Open doors, open hearts—together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community.
Join us next month and be part of the change! ❤
