From May 9–11, GRFS middle school mentors took part in a meaningful mentor development camp.
The camp took place at the Abatolian Heritage Federation facility, bringing together mentors for a weekend of growth and connection. This enriching weekend brought together around 30 mentors from Ottawa, Toronto, and Kitchener-Waterloo to grow, connect, and reflect.
The camp featured a dynamic mix of seminars, book discussions, and hands-on workshops focused on enhancing mentorship skills. Participants exchanged ideas and experiences, learning from one another in a supportive environment. Beyond the sessions, lively social activities—like paintball, volleyball, ping pong, and indoor soccer—offered fun, laughter, and deeper friendships.
At GRFS, we believe love means showing up—with curiosity, with care, and with community. This camp wasn’t just about learning—it was about lifting each other up. It reminded us that mentorship is more than guidance; it’s connection in action.
