Yesterday, the Grand River Friendship Society family came together for an unforgettable Eid al-Adha gathering filled with warmth, connection, and celebration. With nearly 400 guests in attendance, the day began with a generous breakfast that reflected the spirit of friendship and unity. Our vibrant fruit stand added a burst of colour and sweetness to a morning where hearts met around a shared table.
The most anticipated moment for children—the giving of traditional holiday gifts—was made even more special as they received their bayram envelopes from respected elders, GRFS board members, advisory member Mr. Leon, and Green Party MPP Ms. Ashley. Her heartfelt Eid wishes deeply touched our community.
Following breakfast, joy overflowed as children enjoyed cotton candy, ice cream, cascading fruit from the “Viko Lots” fountain, relay games, and playful competitions. Every detail created moments of joy and lasting memories.
But yesterday wasn’t just about celebration—it was about reunion. It was a vibrant expression of gratitude and shared happiness. The gathering painted a picture of the GRFS mission in action: touching every heart, building bridges, and carrying hope forward.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and contributors who made this beautiful day possible.
At GRFS, we believe love is more than a word—it’s what we do. Love is a Verb.
