June is National Indigenous Heritage Month—a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Turtle Island. It’s also a time to listen, learn, and stand in solidarity.
At the Grand River Friendship Society, we proudly honour the voices and stories of Indigenous communities. Whether through art, language, storytelling, or ceremony, this month reminds us of the strength, resilience, and beauty rooted in Indigenous heritage. We join our community in reflecting on the past, engaging with the present, and walking together toward a more just and respectful future.
To honour is to act. At GRFS, we believe love shows up in listening, in learning, and in standing together. This month and always, we recommit ourselves to building relationships based on truth, respect, and active support—because love is a verb.
