A ceremony was held to present the donation cheque to the Canadian Red Cross. The funds were collected from a fundraising initiative organized by the Community Kitchen Co-operative of K-W, KW VegFest, and the IDI-KW / Grand River Friendship Society (GRFS), with the generous assistance of the owners of Queen Shawarma Turkish Cuisine. The donations will be used to aid the earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria.
