Cross-Generational

Connecting Generations, Building Futures

Our programs encourage collaboration and understanding across different age groups through joint activities, mentorship, and shared experiences.

They aim to bridge generational gaps and build stronger community bonds.

CARES

At Grand River Friendship Society, we started a project called CARES to help seniors in Kitchener-Waterloo.
It helps them feel less lonely, stay healthy, and stay active in the community.

We do this through fun events, learning workshops, and volunteer work.
We make sure to include seniors who need more help, like those from poor or faraway places.

CARES brings people together and makes seniors feel important and loved.

Walking Hockey

At Grand River Friendship Society, we started Walking Hockey to help seniors in our community stay active and make new friends.

This free 9-week program is open to anyone who wants to move more and feel better—no hockey experience needed! We provide all the equipment, and every session is safe, low-impact, and friendly.

It’s not just about hockey—it’s about feeling good, staying social, and having fun!
