On Friday evening, November 28, we had the pleasure of attending the Indigenous and Newcomers Gathering program at Victoria Park Pavilion, hosted by the inspiring healer, Hope Engel.

As part of her meaningful collage workshop, we learned how art can help us understand, address, and gently heal the wounds we carry within ourselves. Through this creative process, we discovered new ways to release past difficulties and embrace emotional healing.

We are deeply grateful to Hope Engel and her colleague Flora for welcoming us into this beautiful program. It was truly special for us to be a part of their work, and we look forward to following and supporting their future initiatives.

Thank you for creating such a powerful and heart-opening experience.

On Sunday, September 14, our GRFS volunteers joined thousands across Canada at Victoria Park, Kitchener to honour Terry Fox’s legacy. We met at 11:00 AM, pinned on numbers, stretched together, and shared smiles before the noon start—cheering walkers, runners, strollers, and first-timers alike.

We also hosted a stand—representing who we are, sharing our programs, and connecting with neighbours. Heartfelt thanks to Mike Morrice and to everyone who stopped by—your visits, conversations, and encouragement meant a lot.

When we lace up, hold a sign, welcome questions, and show up for one another, we turn compassion into action. That’s love in motion. Love is a Verb. ?

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, we’re joining thousands across Canada to honour Terry Fox’s legacy and raise awareness for cancer research. Terry’s determination reminds us that ordinary people can do extraordinary good—one step at a time.

Where & when
? Victoria Park, Kitchener
? Meet-up: 11:00 AM (GRFS group)
? Run starts: 12:00 PM

Bring your energy, your friends, and your encouragement—every join-in matters. Terry showed that love isn’t just felt—it’s lived. Showing up, cheering others on, and moving our feet for a cause turns compassion into action. That’s Love is a Verb.
