Grand River Friendship Society was honoured to attend the 51st Annual Interfaith Community Breakfast, organized by Interfaith Grand River at Bingemans Conference Centre.

This year’s theme, “Do Not Be Daunted,” offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on courage, resilience, and the human capacity to remain hopeful and steadfast during challenging times.

We deeply appreciated the thoughtful conversation with Anne Marie Webster, Fauzia Mazhar, and Krishna Gaitonde, moderated by August Adelman. Their reflections highlighted the wisdom found across different faith, spiritual, and philosophical traditions, and reminded us of the importance of shared understanding, appreciation, and cooperation.

At GRFS, we value opportunities that bring people together across diverse backgrounds to strengthen dialogue, mutual respect, and community connection.

Thank you to Interfaith Grand River for organizing this meaningful and longstanding community gathering. We are grateful to be part of conversations that help build a more inclusive, resilient, and connected Waterloo Region.

On the evening of April 15, we had the pleasure of hosting Pastor Ronnie Smith from St. Stephen Lutheran Church at GRFS for a meaningful and engaging session.

During the program, Pastor Ronnie shared valuable insights about Easter—its origins, meaning, and the significance of holy days in Christianity. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about a celebration that holds deep meaning for many in our community.

At GRFS, we believe that understanding one another’s traditions helps build stronger connections and a more inclusive community. Conversations like these bring us closer together through respect, curiosity, and shared experiences.

We sincerely thank Pastor Ronnie Smith for his time and for such a thoughtful and heartfelt presentation. As he beautifully noted, friendships built around the table are truly special—and we are grateful for this time together.

We look forward to more opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate in the future

A heartfelt thank you to Tejal Upadhyay for her inspiring and insightful presentation on Sanatan Dharma – Hinduism, shared with our community on April 22nd in collaboration with the Grand River Friendship Society.

Her thoughtful session deepened our understanding of Hindu traditions, emphasizing values like unity, empathy, and the beautiful philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — “The world is one family.”

We also extend our thanks to Tushar Upadhyay, Board Member of the Brahmarishi Mission of Canada, for his presence and support during this meaningful gathering.

Together, we’re nurturing a culture of learning, harmony, and friendship—one conversation at a time.

Love is a verb—and in moments like these, it truly shows.
